COMPOSITION:
Each 1 ml contains:
Rafoxanide 30 m
PROPERTIES:
SHAFA – RAFOXAN a halogenated salicylanilide anthelmintic against the trematode spp. (Flukes) , some nematodes (round worms) and larval stage of sheep nasal bot fly.
It is extensively bound to plasma proteins and has a long terminal half – life , so it acquires a prolonged persistence in the plasma which leads to the effect against the immature flukes.
As proton ionophore , transporting cations across cell membranes , it acts by uncoupling oxidative phosphorylation within parasitic mitochondria resulting into its death.
INDICATIONS:
For the treatment and control of the following parasitic infestations:
Flukes:
*Liver flukes(mature and immature stages): Fasciola hepatica , F.gigantica.
*Other flukes: Dicrocoelium dendriticum.
* Blood sucking nematode: Haemonchus contortus.
*Files larvae: Sheep nasal bot (Oestrus ovis) , Lucilia.
DOSAGE:
( shake well before use )
Sheep,goats, Cattle: 2.5-4 ml / 10 Kg body weight ( 7.5 mg activity / Kg body weight )
Repeat dosing after 4-6 weeks.
REMARKS:
Not Recommended for milking animals.
Dairy animals should be treated only during their milking dry-period.
PERCAUTIONS:
Wash hands after dosing , Avoid contact with eyes , mouth and skin.
WITHDRAWAL PERIOD:
Don’t use animals products during treatment and within 28 days from the last treatment.
